The advice from Monster about Common Issues and Difficulties in writing a Resume were very helpful. Each section had something that was very beneficial to me that I could use.
The lesson that I learned from the first section was that your resume is not all about what you did during school. A resume is about convincing employers that the skills you learned and used during school can be transferred to the company. The resume should show that you can help the company with your hiring. Some other pointers that were helpful were about generalization and emphasizing. Generalization is something that you don’t want to do but emphasizing is something you should do a lot of. After reading this I realized that careless writing can hurt a person’s chances of employment. Bad habits are usually how the careless writing starts. Writing is extremely important when it comes to job employers. In fact, the number one form of communication is e-mail.
Something else that was interesting to me was that no matter what the major of an individual was, they still had a chance with an interviewer. More importantly than the major is the skills that come from the major that can be used.
